I am a Christian first – wife and daughter second. I love the Lord with all of my heart. I am happily married and very much in love with my husband, Robbie. We’ve been married since 2008. I work as Financial Analyst for a large medical group. I have a passion for ministry. I’m an amateur photographer, runner, fitness enthusiast. My husband and I ran our first 5k in August 2010. We have done several since then. We’re signed up to do our first 10k in March 2014. I love reading and watching college football with Rob. Go Dawgs! I also love bags and purses – the bigger the better but I won’t discriminate. Some girls like shoes and some like clothes but I’m a bag girl. It’s in my genetics…
You’ll hear me talk a lot about my incredible Saviour, Jesus Christ, and this journey of faith I’m on. I’m not a Bible scholar or a theologian. As my Pastor says, I’m going to just give it to you like the Lord gave it to me. I can’t write eloquently; I’m just plain and simple. But I do love the Lord with all my heart and have a desire to serve Him. There are a lot of things I can’t do and there are a lot things I don’t know but there is one thing I can do and that is share what I do know. I’m just trying to let me light shine and bring glory to Him.
What started out as a weight loss journey has turned into a passion for health and fitness. After my mom passed away in 2009, I decided I need to do something for me. I have always struggled with my weight but I had reach my biggest size at that point. I felt tired all the time and didn’t like myself very much. Have you ever seen the commercial where all this sludge falls on the car and a voice over says “Got engine gunk?” Well that’s exactly how my body felt. Right after my 25th birthday, I started going to a personal trainer. I did that for two years until I felt confident that I could maintain my weight loss journey on my own. Currently I have lost 56lbs and counting! When I was little I used to pray that God would help me lose weight miraculously. LOL I thank God for unanswered prayers because through this journey I have gained SO MUCH more than I have lost. I have gained strength and self-confidence that I never knew was possible. Some of the most rewarding things I have ever done started out as some of the hardest things I’ve ever done. But with the Lord’s help and the support and encouragement from my husband, I did them and I’m a better person because of it.
I have a desire to help people overcome obstacles that have held them back. Nothing is impossible. The journey of a thousand miles begins with ONE step, just one. I want to help them reach their goals and not only lose weight but find self-esteem, strength, and confidence!
